This Database is protected by law by virtue of the Copyright Designs and Patents Act 1988 and the Copyright and Rights in Databases Regulations 1997 (SI 1997/3032) implementing the European Parliament and Council Directive 96/9/EC of 11 March 1996 on the Legal Protection of Databases (the Directive).

The establishment of the Database has involved, and its maintenance and development continues to involve, extensive work, including the collection of raw data, the design of the database, the selection and verification of data for inclusion in the database and the insertion and arrangement of selected data in the database. The cost of establishing the Database and of continuing to obtain, verify and present its contents is considerable.

We wish to protect our members and their legitimate commercial interests. Any unsolicited contact made to our members can be monitored and will be reported to the Information Commissioner for breach of the Data Protection rules. We will also report you to the anti-spam organisations.

The UKWDA puts you on notice that we will instruct our Solicitors to bring an action against you for any unauthorised use of the data. Such unauthorised use includes, but is not limited to, the copying of the content; the extraction and/or re-utilization of the whole or of a part, of the contents of the database.
